DownThemAll! (DTA) is a free, open-source mass download manager extension available directly on the Chrome Web Store. It allows you to select, filter, queue, and download all links, images, or embedded objects from a webpage simultaneously with a single click. Core Features
Mass Downloading: Grabs every single link, media file, or image asset hosted on a webpage instantly.
Advanced Filtering: Built-in and customizable filters let you isolate specific file extensions (like .mp3, .pdf, or .jpg) so you only download what you actually want.
Multipart Download Acceleration: The extension splits large files into multiple sections and downloads them in parallel, significantly maximizing your available bandwidth.
Download Management: Supports full queuing, pausing, resuming, and auto-retrying of failed downloads.
Smart Renaming & Organization: Uses advanced renaming masks and automation properties to sort downloaded files into custom sub-folders inside your default folder.
OneClick Functionality: A feature called dTaOneClick remembers your previous configuration and instantly queues new batches using past preferences. Critical Chrome Limitations
If you previously used DownThemAll on older versions of Mozilla Firefox, the modern Chrome WebExtension version behaves slightly differently due to Google Chrome’s browser restrictions:
The Prompt Issue: If Chrome is configured to “Ask where to save each file before downloading,” Chrome will force a pop-up confirmation window for every single file DownThemAll pulls. The extension cannot bypass this. You must turn off this prompt in your general Chrome settings (Settings -> Downloads) to mass download seamlessly.
Download Directory Restraints: Due to Chrome API security protocols, DownThemAll can only save files within your default browser Downloads folder (though it can create custom sub-folders inside of it). Privacy & Transparency
The software is completely free, community-funded, and open-source. According to its official website and Web Store privacy declarations, the extension does not include adware, spyware, user tracking, or any monetization scripts that sell data to third parties.
Are you looking to download a specific type of file batch (like a gallery of images or a list of documents), or do you need help setting up the renaming masks for file organization? DownThemAll! – Chrome Web Store
